Kuwait was ranked 140th most populous country in 2005 and is 127th in 2025. Qatar was ranked 159th in 2005 and ranked 137th now.

The UN's World Population Prospects forecasts that with changing growth rate trends in 25 years (in 2050) Kuwait's population will grow by 25.2% to 6,418,538 people with a rank change from 127th to 117th. The population of Qatar will increase by 31.7% to 3,904,074 people and rank change from 137th to 134th.
