From 2005 to 2015, the population of Turkey increased by 8,888,922 people (a 12.8% growth), while Vietnam gained 11,734,941 people (a 14.5% growth).

For the next 10 years, from 2015 to 2025, Turkey gained 7,696,071 (a 9.84% growth), while Vietnam's population increased by 9,240,297 (a 9.95% growth).

Turkey was ranked 18th most populous country in 2005 and is still 18th in 2025. Vietnam was ranked 15th in 2005 and ranked 16th now.

The UN's World Population Prospects forecasts that with changing growth rate trends in 25 years (in 2050) Turkey's population will grow by 3.85% to 89,218,346 people with a rank change from 18th to 19th. The population of Vietnam will increase by 7.78% to 110,008,910 people and will still be ranked 16th.
